Shanna Mahihu
Chief Growth Officer
Shanna Mahihu is a seasoned marketing, commercial and strategic partnership management professional with over 20 years of progressive experience. She leads the company’s Marketing and Growth operations.
Before joining One Smart Star Kenya, Shanna served as Country Director – East Africa at Terragon Group, Africa’s leading marketing tech company, where she led the company’s East African operations, with the responsibility for business in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, and oversaw the company’s expansion efforts into the region. Prior to that, she served as Head of Growth – Market Development and Partner Acquisition for a mature Healthcare aggregator start-up. Shanna was instrumental in settling up their Revenue and Growth divisions, growing the partner provider base and exceeding the partner acquisition target month-on-month.
Shanna was also at the helm of a leading 360 market agency as the Group Managing Director, where she was responsible for the performance of the company, and reporting to the board on the overall strategy position. While overseeing the key functional areas, her key focus on revenue growth.
She started her career in the banking sector and also has experience in the hospitality industry, where she led the group marketing function for a leading chain of hotels, resorts and game lodges. Shanna holds an Executive MBA in Business Analytics from Marconi University (Rome, Italy) through the prestigious Eaton Business School (UAE) and is a graduate of the Chartered Management Institute – CMI (Oxford, United Kingdom). She also attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Business Management from Wits Business School (Johannesburg, South Africa). She has two undergraduate degrees; a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and Business Management from Damelin Graduate College (Johannesburg, South Africa) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business Administration from United States International University – Africa (Nairobi, Kenya).
She currently sits on the Advertising Standards Committee (ASC) part of the Advertising Standards Board of Kenya (ASBK). The ASBK is an independent body set up by the marketing and advertising industry, charged with the responsibility of regulating the advertising industry in Kenya. Shanna also sits on the board of the Eddah’s Hope Cancer Foundation Board.
